Anyone have any plant pots - old, junky, plastic, whatever - they don't want? I need to pot some overflow - medium pots would be best. Also, I have some beautiful Swedish ivy (round, scalloped leaves) that has gone crazy. I dumped some sprouts in with other plants - it's taking over! Let me know if you want some.

      Hi Everyone,

I own an Audio/Video Custom Installation business and swap my sets out (for demo purposes) about once a year. I'm currently selling my Panasonic 65" THX Certified VT25 3D Plasma to make room for a new model. I have the set listed on Craigslist for $2100 but would probably take a little off for a Mueller Resident along with providing free delivery.

http://austin.craigslist.org/ele/2836800917.html

The set is approximately one year old and was Panasonic's top of the line set before the current model. It's retail price was $4299. If you are looking for a TV this size and quality you wont find a better deal.

Feel free to give me a call if you'd like to discuss this set or any other TV. I have better pricining than just about any local store and can match most online resellers pricing. With much better service!!!

Thanks!
Joe

Audio Video Obsession (AVO)
http://avoaustin.com
512-680-7809
joe@avoaustin.com

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives, and the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Learning to swim provides confidence and builds the whole child, from the inside out.

The East communities YMCA has a heated outdoor lap pool for swim lessons. Children and adults will enjoy 83 degree warm water with trained lifegaurd professionals.

Please see attached flyer for session dates and rates. Also, feel free to email our Aquatics Director, Michael Griffin if you have any additional questions. His email is: [michael.griffin@austinymca.org] or call 512-933-9622.

Small dog Companion during the days...

      Posted 5 hours ago

I am curious if there is someone in Mueller neighborhood who might enjoy having a dog companion during the daytime hours? I have a very loving and adorable 7 y/o mix (8lbs, min pin/chihauhau/pom/terrier) who has to stay home by herself while I am working. I work at DCMC so I come home for lunch to give her attention but it saddens me to know that she has to be all by herself all day. She is 100% content just curling up on a blanket, sitting on a lap, as well as sitting outside in the sun, as long as she is assured someone is around. She does not yap or bark, she is very friendly and loving, clean, she minds extremely well, and most the time you hardly know she is even there...
Is there someone who mostly stays home and wants some company? An elderly couple or individual who would like a friend during the day? Is your dog left at home all day as well and might enjoy having a friend?
If only a few days of the week or a few hours of the day... Please PM me if you are interested or know of someone who's day would be a little happier with some relaxing company. She does love walks, is great on and off the leash. And always gets excited for treats :)

I will try to attach a picture

Best,
Cally

      Posted 7 hours ago

In the bi-laws (or covenants or whatever you call them) for the 'hood that we all signed when we purchased our homes there is a parking limitation...I believe either 36-48 maybe 72 hours, but the POA never enforced it and I think that a non-binding/informal vote was taken a year or so ago and the majority of voters didn't want the parking limitation enforced. I am careful to say majority of voters because I don't know if it was or is currently the majority opinion of residents. So, we end up with situations like these where someone may leave a car for perpetuity. It's a public street so there's really nothing to be done unless the car is parked illegally. If it is parked illegally you can report it here (http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/city_survey/survey.cfm?id=F83D37B4-0BCF-034D-9966DCD63DA0539C) although of course if you tow a neighbor's car that probably isn't going to put you at the top of their gift list. And, just because someone doesn't respond to you here doesn't indicate the car is abandoned, not everyone uses this site.

I don't mean to state an opinion on the issue or start a flame war between the two camps (some people really want on-street parking while some want the covenant enforced) as we've already had several contentous threads on this issue. My intent is just to give you a little background on the history of the issue.

Shrub roses-which include the neighborhood Knock Out variety- need to be cut back by 1/3rd or enough to keep them in bounds. Usually done by mid-February regardless of the weather. Then usually a lighter cutting in late August to promote a fall bloom. I usually give them a shovel or two of composted manure when I prune as well and rake it in around the roots.

{Some roses may need to be cut back heavily if they have never been cut back or it has been several years}

Climbing roses, wait until after they have had their spring bloom. Usually around mid-May.

Perennials that would normally have died back from the frost, you can go ahead and cut back as well. Grasses can be cut back although many gardeners recommend just raking out the dead leaves after the new growth comes out in the spring.

Joe

So the weather really sucks and we are going to forgo the outside element of the superbowl watching party. The big screen will be in the alley with viewing from the garage and in the living room. Just swing by the alley.

Okay, so the weather kind of sucks and I'm sitting here with a full keg of beer and about 100 hot dogs/sausages.

I just want to make the group aware that we will have two shelter areas (garage and living room) in addition to the outside for watching the super bowl.
We had one like that in our alley and they told us to put a piece of paper on the top that said orphan trash can...they picked it up about a week later.

I lost an earring and it may have happened on Threadgill, between Camacho and Zach Scott. If anyone has found one, let me know. It's a special piece to me. 473-8944. Thanks.
