Swimming pool design
posted by Daniel Emmanuel on September 1st, 2020 1:37 AM
I'm planning to install a swimming pool in the backyard of my house. Because my children like swimming and I don't have to send them to any swimming club for practicing swimming. When going to community pools or any swimming club, we don't know who will be having Covid-19 and who don't. So it is better to stay at home. This has made me decide on building a swimming pool at home. The next step is selecting a suitable pool design for my backyard. I found this online, and I found its designs fascinating. Which pool design is ideal for exercising purposes and can bring more attraction to visitors? I don't like to add landscaping features in an over manner. It should be simple, less maintenance needed, and should make my backyard look wonderful. If you have got any ideas, please share it Thanks

Electrical works during renovation
posted by Alfred Scott on July 8th, 2020 10:39 AM
It's thirty years since we constructed our house in Toronto. Since the entire outlook of the house was looking old, we decided to renovate it. During the renovation process, we decided to change the fans, lights, switchboards, etc. and replace it with the latest ones. So we started taking the opinion of our relatives, friends and neighbours asking them for an excellent electrical services provider in Toronto. Finally, our neighbour suggested an electrical services provider nearby and gave us the details https://www.hi-liteelectricinc.ca/emergency-repair/. We contacted them and booked an appointment. When the renovation work got over, they came and replaced the entire fans, lights, and switches without causing any damage. We appreciated them for their professionalism as they were also experts in choosing the products of long-lasting quality. A year has passed since we changed them. We have not faced any electrical issues or damages until now. Apart from this, can you also list some other ways to choose a reputable electrical service provider?
Electrician Needed
posted by Richard Wilson on June 30th, 2020 2:18 AM
It's twenty-years since I constructed my house in Toronto. The switchboards are too old as we have been using it for so long. Most of the switches are not in good working condition. It makes it difficult for us to charge the phones and laptops and use electrical appliances in the kitchen. So we decided to replace it with the latest ones that are available in the market. We began searching for a company in Toronto that does electrical services professionally. While searching online, we came across a one with good reviews and high ratings https://www.hi-liteelectricinc.ca/emergency-repair/. We took the details and contacted them. They arrived the next day, and we went to the electrical shop to purchase the switchboards. They were skilled in choosing the switchboards that are of long-lasting quality and began the work the next day. We appreciated them for their services as they were so efficient in changing all the switchboards within two or three weeks. Do you know how much does an electrical service company usually charge for these type of services?

met with an accident, need to claim compensation

I reached Canada 3 weeks back as I got a job here. Last week, I met with a car accident. The doctor told me that the fracture of the right hand is something serious and it will take at least 6 months to recover from it. I can't join my new company in this condition. Now I am thinking of filing a complaint to get compensation for this. I’ve come to know details regarding this from an accident insurance lawyer in Toronto. I would like to know about my rights in this situation. I am not familiar with the procedures here. It would be great if somebody can help me with some advice.

Renting storage unit
posted by Alma Ford on August 8th, 2018 5:57 AM
Recently, I downsized my home. We are planning to shift to an apartment in Burlington. We were actually looking for a desirable neighborhood, close to work. Since we couldn't find a suitable home we decided to shift to an apartment for the time being. After downsizing, we had to rent a bin to get rid of a lot of material we don't need anymore. Next week we will move to our new our new house in Toronto. Since we are moving to a smaller space, we don't have enough space to accommodate all the households. We have some furniture we don't need in our new apartment. I am going to . I have never used storage services before. Is it good for a short-term purpose? I am not sure about the number of days that we need to rent a unit. We need to rent a unit until we find a suitable home.
Any electric shock experiences?
posted by Martha Dalton on July 31st, 2018 7:12 AM
Hi guys, Feels a little bit panic right now. Don't know why. Last week I had an electric shock from my lap. I was playing an online game on the laptop while it was charging. Suddenly my lap got stuck. When I touched the battery, I got an electric shock. I felt a little bit of panic for a few seconds. Usually, this never happens. There is no chance any electrical issues since we already had done an electrical inspection a few months ago. Next day, my mom got an electric shock while working in the kitchen. The reason behind the sudden electric shock was because of the power surge. Next day, we installed a power surge protector from. I have become more cautious right now. It's better if you avoid using laptops while charging. It's even dangerous when you do that. It's better if you install surge protection devices at home when there are more electrical devices at home.
Renovating my old house
posted by Kelli Reeves on July 24th, 2018 1:25 AM
I am living in a 1990's home in Toronto. Most of the houses in our area have undergone a renovation. We haven't done any renovation ever since we Since we were not financially capable to undergo a renovation of the house so we didn't think of it. Finally, we are ready for making some much-needed updates to our home. We have created a budget for the renovation work. The budget includes building a deck, converting the garage to a bedroom, carpeting the floor and the living room, bathroom and kitchen renovation, a complete living room remodel and bin rental for removing the old materials and other junk after renovation. I hope we will able to finish off everything within the budget. Bu now, the only thing that bothers me is that we are not renovating the bedroom adjacent to the living room. If I renovate the living room, it might affect the bedroom as well. How can I avoid this?
Looking to host in Airbnb?
posted by Martha Dalton on July 17th, 2018 11:27 PM
Anyone here thinking of renting out your home to airbnb. Well, if you are ready to share those unused spaces, it is a good way to earn some extra money. So before hosting these are the things these are the things you should be careful of: Always Be Upfront With Guests. Familiarize Yourself With Local Laws. Adopt a Business Mindset, consider what you can offer to make your listing attractive. Consider Making Minimum-Night Stay Requirements. Keep All Payments and Messaging Within Airbnb. Keep the house clean by hiring an airbnb maid service. My cousin and her husband are also planning to host in airbnb. They have sorted out most of the above listed. They have also to clean the home. And in process of buying the things that would be necessary for the guests. Anyone else interested? If you have any suggestions please let me know that too. Thanks in advance!
Looking for storage rental
posted by Diane Vargas on July 16th, 2018 12:05 AM
We are undergoing a major renovation at our home. We have a garage which is a separate outbuilding. We didn't include garage renovation in our budget. Last, day while I was cleaning the roof areas of the garage, I noticed some damages to the roof. The garage is 2 years old. There are 2 missing shingles and some other damages. Our contractor suggested replacing the roof. We thought of garage repair along with the roof replacement. So until we keep everything in a safe place we need a place to store the materials safely. One of my friends suggested renting a unit . How about using it? Is it safe to use self-storage? Do you have any other suggestion?
How to control wild animals?
posted by Laura White on July 13th, 2018 6:10 AM
It is really good to see pigeons in the streets. But it is not good to see pigeon waste there. It should be considered with great seriousness. Our streets should be protected from these pets and wild animals. I would like to find a proper solution to this issue. There are many permanent animal removal guaranteed services in our country. Why can't we use it in a right way? First thing is to have a proper awareness of animal removals methods. There are in Toronto. They not only capture animals and birds, they also relocate and arrange proper habitat for those birds and animals and it is named as rehabilitation. Racoon, squirrel and hawk attacks can be reduced to a great extent. And it is really a better solution to the issue that I had raised before that is to save our streets from pests. Many animal attacks have been reported in our newspapers daily. When those pest animals are removed, this can be reduced. Our streets should not be the place for pigeons to dump their wastes. So if anyone notices this kind of a nuisance, you can make use of this kind of services.
I need something that is purely eco-friendly
posted by Laura White on June 26th, 2018 6:28 AM
I bought a house in Toronto and it has a pool. I am so happy with the pool. I am interested in swimming and it is an evening exercise for me and my family. Swimming is one of the best activities that you can do all year around. It gives you a good workout. The great thing about swimming is that it can be done by everyone. Cold water swimming enhances the blood circulation and thereby reduces the stress. I've always wanted a pool and after 20 years, I finally got one. It's a 20 x 40 pool with a fence surrounding it. But I have to contact a pool service company ( http://www.soldapools.com/service/ ) to have a proper repair. I think the old owner is not interested in swimming and had not used the pool. I am not interested in too much mess for a pool. I am looking for ideas about trees and plants that won't put too much debris in the pool but will also have some summer and winter interest. I need something that is purely eco-friendly. I was thinking of lining the perimeter with sprinter boxwoods to make a hedge and then planting a couple of maples in the corner area of the fence. Any suggestions or photos would be great. I would like to know the possibilities to bring my pool and its area more attractive. Thanks
Is it too expensive?
posted by Pearl Robinson on June 20th, 2018 4:25 AM
We bought a new house in Toronto. It is meaningless if I mention it as a new house, I bought it from an old people who were living there for years and sold it to me as they are shifting to another place. The first thing I did was rewiring the house ( http://www.hi-liteelectricinc.ca/services/aluminum-wiring/ ). The house was actually built in late 1970’s. So, the wiring was with aluminium. Aluminum had a lot of disadvantages. These included flickering lights, warm cover plates on switches and receptacles, and burnt insulation on wiring. There will be an overheating issue and overheating can cause fires. So, before becoming worse, I contacted an electrical contractor who has a good knowledge and experience about the situation. He points out that over the years, aluminum wiring has been implicated in a number of electrical fires, some of which have led to fatalities. Issues with aluminum wire occur when it has to be connected. At the point of connection, a piece of bare aluminum wire typically gets exposed to air where it rusts into aluminum oxide. This "rusty" aluminum resists current flow, generating heat. Aluminum also expands and contracts in response to load and temperature changes differently than copper. Because of this, connections between aluminum wires and terminals or wires made of other materials can grow loose, leading to the potential for sparks and short circuits. He recommended rewiring. I think rewiring is quite expensive. Can anyone tell me the approximate rate of rewiring a single stored house? Is it too expensive? I want to rewire soon since it is a threat to our family.
Anyone else here successfully grown trees from seed?

I am a person who is interested in bodybuilding. I use to practice healthy and organic food habits. My friend bought some berries from his backyard berry trees. I have those berries with my breakfast. Berries are very tasty. Moreover, they are good for our body health. I planned to grow berries in my backyard. I kept 40 or 50 of the seeds. They are easy to germinate, but I was not able to look after the berries since I was busy with my life and career. It happened years back. Now I am in Toronto and I want to grow some tree seedlings (https://stwilliamsnursery.com/products/#sthash.dREDkjJ8.dpbs). Summer is approaching and it is the best time to grow berries. So I bought some berry seedlings from a nursery. But growing a tree is not so easy as growing flowering plants. I got an opportunity to talk with a gardener and he gave me some ideas about growing a tree from seeds. But he hasn’t tried it yet. I am really interested in growing it. It was a decision taken by me on this environment day. Well, I have no idea with this decision. Anyone else here successfully grown trees from seed?

They have helped me clean the carpet and the whole house as well. I want to know what all things I should keep in mind before renting it out. Should I be writing a contract…? What all things should I be including in the contract if I am to write one? What are the important things I should be discussing about with the tenants?
