Please join us Saturday as we tip our chapeaus to say MERCI to Jim Schwobel, Christophe Chambers and Michael Hillis who have been been coming to Paggi Square just about every Saturday morning since the grand opening holding lessons and hosting games to teach us the the rules, tactics and strategy of Petanque, and have shared their stories and given us the benefit of their experience - all gratis. Along the way they helped to create a growing community of friends within Mueller which is quickly becoming home to one of the best games in town. All regular Petanquers at Mueller are invited to share Pastries, Coffee & Boules this Saturday morning at 10:00 AM at Paggi Square. Let us know if you plan to attend by responding to me.In the event of weather we will shift this event to Browning Hangar. Look for an alert on Saturday morning if this is the case.

A very big MERCI to Jim Schwobel, Michael Hillis and Christophe Chambers
posted by Mateo Barnstone on November 21st, 2013 12:16 PM
Jim, Michael and Christophe have been kind enough to donate their time and efforts every week at Paggi Square towards teaching Mueller residents the rule, tactics and strategy of the game of petanque for free. Along the way they helped to create a vibrant community that is growing in popularity each week and quickly becoming one of the hottest games in town. All Mueller petanquers, and anyone else interested in the game, is invited to bundle up and join us for hot coffee, pastries and boules this Saturday, November 23rd at 10;00AM. The tentative location is Paggi Square, however, in the event of inclement weather we will move it to Browning Hangar. If you've been curious about this game, Saturday will be a great time to swing by, meet some neighbors, enjoy some coffee and pastry on a crisp fall morning and get introduced to the game of petanque. Please send me PM if you are thinking of coming - that way we can be sure to have plenty of coffee. Signed,The Friends of Paggi Square Susan Beckman Terry Plemons Hasu Patel Mateo Barnstone

Petanque games at Paggi Square
posted by Jim Schwobel on June 16th, 2013 10:57 AM
The Heart of Texas Petanque Club conducted its first FREE Petanque class on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the new Petanque courts at Paggi Square in the Mueller Community. Club members Christophe Chambers and Michael Hillis introduced this international sport to seven novices – and before the two-hour class was over, all were playing the game and enjoying their new-found past-time.Thanks also to HOTPC members Gerald and Cecilia Lankes and Jim Schwobel who helped fill out teams and shared their enthusiasm with the novices. There was a Mueller Neighborhood Association Meeting going on at the same time as these lessons so it is anticipated that more folks will attend the future classes, which will continue every Saturday, for the foreseeable future, at Paggi Square from 10:00 am to noon.
