I was rummaging through my trash can a day or two ago and came across two or three bags of dog dookie. I believe the deposits were made by a single culprit because the bags all had a similar, difficult to untie knot and smelled about the same. Personally I don't mind these "gifts" because I am obsessed with dookie, but I can see how someone else might take offense. Get it together people! If you have your dookie bagged don't throw it in the nearest trash can! People don't leave those things out in the alley for your convenience. They're out there because some people don't want to bother with moving their trash cans back and forth 3 yards every week. Just put the dookie in the dookie boxes where it is much easier to find.

I agree, these threads are pretty funny. I literally have no idea what's in my trash can, I just open the lid and throw my rubbish in there, and then a magic beast comes on Friday and eats it all. You're right I could ignore them or skip over them, but then I'd miss out on the epic bi-weekly trash related #firstworldproblems

I take it you wouldn't mind if someone sneaked over to your property when you weren't looking and planted a lovely English Ivy or Juniper in the middle of your front lawn? I think that's the intended purpose of soil. []

This happens to me all of the time and it drives me crazy. i live right off of the park and my house is on the end. On trash day, there may be a few hours my can is out and people put their dog poop in there. At least it was in bags but they seriously think it is ok for it to ferment in my trash can all week during the hot summer months. I agree, it is rude and irreopsonsible. One day, I did have my trash can in and they left little bags of poop by my garage. Thanks alot! I keep putting signs on my cans but they fall off.

Same happened to me! Not nice, people!I actually saw someone doing this.. the trash can was a few houses away from this person's own house!!!! I honestly had no idea of what to say cause at the beginning I was unsure where this person lived. But now that I do know, I don't know how to report it without getting myself in trouble. This is annoying and disrespectful. I am entirely sure this person didn't mean to be mean or abusive, but the reality is that this behavior IS abusive!! So how do I get them warned?

I feel for you. I once saw a woman jogging with her dog make a turn into the way that runs along the side of our house just to open our trashcan and deposit her bag of poop. And on she went to continue her jog. At least she bagged the poop but it was still smelly. She couldn't be bothered further to dispose of it in a designated public receptacle at the park. Some people have no sense of common courtesy. I feel so bad for you!

Lately somebody felt that it was ok to dispose of their dog poop (unwrapped) in our trash can. It is a gross, unhealthy and disrespectful behavior. Also, using your neighbor's grass as your dog bathroom, or throwing poop over the fence is not ok. Opening somebody's trash or walking on somebody's grass uninvited, with the intend to soil the property is called trespassing.. If we catch the offender in act I promise that we will make him/her feel very sorry plus she/he will have to clean our trash with bare hands. If we recognize the offender we will report to the police. I can't believe somebody can have such uncivilized idea. Shame on you. Please make sure to share this message with whoever walks your dogs, including your children.

Last night a car parked on Hargis was broken into. Please DO report all the incidents to APD an DO call 911 when you suspect or hear something strange going on. We need to ask for more police cars patrolling our streets. As the construction goes full steam we will see more traffic, more looters and more thefts. I spoke with Officer Tarver today so he is aware but he stresses that the only way for him to help out is that we call 911. Stay safe.

Parking in front of Mailboxes
posted by Kathy Sokolic on August 21st, 2012 3:28 PM
Neighbors: Officer Tarver sent this email out today about parking next to mailboxes. There are some blocks that are called out specifically. All, My message serves only to pass on information regarding concerns from postal service personnel. Postal service personnel responsible for Mueller residential area deliveries have voiced concerns regarding parking near community mailboxes. Areas of substantial concern were directed along Hargis St, Sham St, and the 4400 block of Camacho St. It was stated that obstructing the parking/delivery spaces near the mailboxes causes safety hazards for the postal drivers. Postal service personnel claimed this was a habitual problem and also that the concerns have been discussed with citizens within the area on several occasions. It was noted that US Postal Service “Approaches to Curbside Mailboxes” notices have been placed on vehicles numerous times. Moreover, it was emphasized by the postal staff that “safety hazard forms” would be completed and submitted to supervisors at their workplace. Subsequently, mail deliveries would be discontinued and citizens would be required to pick up their mail at postal facilities until the safety hazards were no longer observed. Below, I have posted [also attached] the US Postal Service “Approaches to Curbside Mailboxes” notice to for informational purposes. Officer Antwain T. Our nanny is graduating / moving and I am looking for a new person to watch my 5 y.o. twin daughters from time to time on evenings/weekends/weekdays. Since they were born, I've had fantastic luck finding sitters on UT's Longhorn Jobbank, but that website recently stopped accepting job postings for childcare/work from homes. Oops - now what do it do? I've had great success working with UT students, but would also be open to other options- if anyone knows someone who knows someone or if you are familiar with another good job posting venue, please send me a PM. Currently the known streets participating are: HARGIS, ANTONE, CAMACHO, THREADGILL, McCLOSKEY, EMMA LONG, LITTLEFIELD, SCALES & TOM MILLER. Mueller Garage Sale, Saturday, May 21st, 8 am - noon

Hello All, Many responded regarding our Hargis Garage Sale. I have heard from Tom Miller, Threadgill, Berkman, McCluskey, Zachary Scott, Scales and Antone (the kiddos plan to sell lemonade there). It became more difficult for me to coordinate and it is a busy time of the year. Please contact your block captains in order to coordinate the sale on your street, they should be able to email everybody at once. I know that some have larger items and would probably want to stay in front of their houses. Some had small items and desired to bundle up. Some still do not know and may decide to join the sale later. Those who wish to join the Hargisians are welcome - the more the merrier! Initially we thought, here on Hargis, about the "first peek" night before. Instead we can decide - if we want - to open the sale before 8am for the Mueller compadres. I will post something on Craigslist on Thursday and Friday before the 21st, will also sent something to Chronicle. It will be important to plant signs directing the visitors towards the streets. We should probably post signs at the entrances on Airport, Berkman and Aldrich. Please let us know here if you intend to have a sale on your street, it will be probably more efficient than a map. Best, Grazyna
