High Electric Bills?
That does seem very high.I don't think it would explain the entire bill, but have you tried replacing your bulbs with CFLs? Shortly after moving in, we went around the house and replaced all the builder-installed bulbs with energy-efficien...

nails v. tires
I had two nails in my rear passenger tire this morning, and I'm pretty sure I picked them up in the alley, so wanted to resurrect this post and remind everyone of Aaron's great advice:Be on the lookout for nails in the alleys, learn how to ...

Which APL library?
I don't think this topic has been covered before, so I thought I'd ask: Which Austin Public Library branch do Muellerites recommend as a "home" library?A glance at Google Maps shows us in between the Windsor Park and the Oak Springs branche...

How many Muellerites does it take to install a light?
My primary complaint about that intersection is actually from my experience as a pedestrian trying to cross Airport, not as a driver. With cars turning left from Zach Scott, and other cars either turning onto Zach Scott or making a u-turn ...

Public Apology - Entering the Neighborhood
The other thing that makes this intersection dangerous is the number of people heading southbound on Airport who pull u-turns. A traffic light would remedy all these problems.

End of week poll - driving in the back alleys
That's actually a pretty sweet idea about the alley garage sale -- anybody who didn't want to participate could just close their door (and park out front so as to not be blocked in).

Re: Stop signs at Zach Scott & Airport
Reviving an old thread here - we've been walking to and from UT, and have noticed that a lot of people use the Zach Scott/Airport intersection to do u-turns on Airport. It's impossible to tell if they are going to do a u-turn or pull off o...
