Time Warner vs. ATT
We have ATT phone and high speed internet. I like it a lot. We had RoadRunner high speed at our old place and it slowed down a lot in the evenings when usage was heavy in the neighborhood. That has not been the case with uVerse. I would...

Catellus Updates Master Plan Map
Perhaps this has been up for a long time and I've just missed it, but I'm pretty sure Catellus recently updated the master plan map on MuellerAustin.com.Note the expanded commercial space north of Town Center, the elimination of all single ...

University Park news (old Concordia U site)
We'll soon be getting upscale theaters near Mueller! Not sure how/if this would affect a decision by the Drafthouse to move into Mueller Town Center. Nonetheless, rising tide, all ships, etc. A movie theater, apartment building, medica...

Next phases of residential development...
Thanks, Dusty. And good point, Smitty. I suspect the builders will start pitching a fit once they're totally sold out on Phase II. Looks like Meritage and Weekley are mighty close already.

On-Street Parking
Area-based parking permits are very common in other cities. Chicago has them all over the place. This is hardly a radical idea. It's what you have to do, sometimes, when density exceeds the amount of available street parking.

On-Street Parking
We have one unit on our block that uses a large portion of the on-street parking. With a two-car garage, you shouldn't need more than two street parking spaces. Yet this unit regularly uses 3-4 on-street spaces. For overnight on-street park...

Mueller House rises from the ashes
Wait, that would mean they're doing away with the mixed-use that was previously planned for that area. Can that be correct? That would mean Phase III is not crossing over Berkman.Like Chris, I must have missed a lot. If there's a new mas...

Dodge Tradesman 200 Camper Van parked next to our house
Good luck with that. We had an abandoned car parked in front of our place for *nine months* before the city removed it. I still think the only reason they did is because the Parade of Homes was coming up in a couple of days. [:shademad:]

Another blogger weighs in on Mueller
Yes, well, when we were looking for a home in Austin, we were shocked that $350k buys you clapboard siding, 1,000 sf, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bath. Sure, you have a big yard, but odds are it hasn't been well kept because--well--that's just the w...

Free Xbox 360 (needs $99 repair)
I've got a non-functioning Xbox 360 console that someone can have for free. This is a "red ring of death" problem (Google it if you're not familiar). All it needs is a $99 repair from Microsoft. This still gets you an Xbox 360 console fo...

Lost Orange Cat - have you seen him?
I briefly stopped and petted an orange cat that looked like this on Zach Scott around 9:30p on Wednesday. BUT, there are lots of orange cats out there so I have no way of saying whether he was yours. Certainly a friendly guy (gal?), and s...

RMMA-PIAC Meeting Notes - 09/08/09
Appreciate the update, Dusty. Unfortunately, you don't report very good news. If Weaver is telling us that Mueller is going to take longer to build out, I don't think any of us mind too much. If he's telling us there's going to be a down...

Carpenter or Furniture finisher
We used Sonny/Distinctive for some serious built-in bookshelves and they are excellent. Fair prices. Good treatment. Highly recommended.

Question about Lumber/Materials being Taken From Contruction Sites
Good on ya. I'd report the information to the builder (Weekley, I think?) and let them decide how to use it.
