According to the master plan for the Mueller Community, approximately 140 acres of land has been set aside for parks, trails, and other 'open spaces'. The community will be further augmented by the existing neighborhood parks already wrapping around the edges of the community.

Mueller Parks
There are four planned parks within the 711 acre boundaries of the Mueller Community. In no particular order, the parks are called the Northwest Greenway, the Southwest Greenway, Lake Park, and the Southwest Neighborhood Park.

Northwest Greenway
The Northwest Greenway is located towards the western part of the Mueller Community, next to the Delwood II neighborhood. The 10 ft. wide decomposed granite hike and bike trail will extend from the regional retail at IH-35 to the Mosaic apartments. There is also a unique Mueller play area located near the Dell Children's Medical Center.

Shaded picnic areas are supposed to be completed in the Summer of 2008.

Southwest Greenway
The Southwest Greenway is scheduled to open in late 2008 and located on the western border of the community along Tom Miller St. With the help of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the park has been developed with a native blackland prairie landscaping surrounding the 10-foot-wide hike and bike trail.

Lake Park
Perhaps the most obvious and visible of the Mueller Community parks is Lake Park. The completed Lake Park will contain a 6.5 acre man-made lake of which Mueller Central overlooks. It will also include an open air amphitheater and stage, picnic tables, a stretching area for joggers, and will also display public art exhibits.

This is the park closest to the future Town Center.

Ella Wooten Park
The Ella Wooten Park (also called the Southwest Neighborhood Park) is a small 2.5 acre park scheduled to open in late 2008. The park features a junior Olympic sized 5-lane pool, a wading pool for children, and a pool house. It also has a full sized basketball court and shaded picnic areas.

Nearby Parks

In addition to the parks within the boundaries of the Mueller Community, there are four existing parks that surround the boundaries of Mueller: Bartholomew Park, Morris Williams Golf Course, Phar Tennis Center, and Patterson Park.
