Attendees: Jennifer Harvey from Alliance, Rod Ruoff, Elizabeth Butman, Jerry Perkins, John Guest, Cliff Spinac, Garreth Wilcock, Kerry Fisher, Bobby Gierisch, Karen Zabreznik, Grant Fisher, Dusty Harshman, Kim Wine
Notes:
I. Intro
II. Meeting notes approval
III. Financial report. Bank account balance same as last month. Have $30 in new dues to deposit and another check.
IV. Affordable Senior Development – The application has successfully been submitted
V. PUD Modifications – moving through the planning process with no objections – goes to Council next month
VI. New Business:
a. Mosaic Apartments – 55 apartments now for rent. Had open house, Bobby G attended. Has great clubroom and fitness center, couple of pools. Will have 440 units when totally built out.
b. Community Health Study – Wants support from MNA to encourage participation in 40 page survey questionnaire they will be sending out. Bobby is meeting tomorrow with 2 principal researches to get more information on it. Focus is on healthy activity. Need to have them come present at an upcoming MNA meeting.
c. Uglification of Mueller. John provided list of items in the neighborhood that are eyesores including Time Warner PVC pipes in folks’ yards and all the street signs. Are Time Warner pipes now the responsibility of homeowners or can we have the builders come back and take care of them? Someone remembers that the signs put up were highway signs instead of neighborhood sized signs in error. Perhaps we can get the city to correct if so?
d. Pool Advisory Committee – Pool opens Wed, April 1st! Lots of requests for swim teams, swim lessons and adult swim programs. Per Jennifer Harvey will probably have the same company from last summer providing lifeguard services. Does MNA need to facilitate the development of a swim club that can support swim programs at Mueller? An option being looked at is hiring the lifeguard company to come in and run a swim program at Mueller.
e. Front Porch Flyer – The newletter committee has met to start process for next quarterly newsletter. Call for submission of articles put out on MC.com. Printed 400 newsletters last go around – plan to print 450 this next issue. Also, the committee has approached the builders to buy some copies to hand out to prospective residents. Some builders have expressed interested. We should also approach Catellus to have at the visitors center. The newsletters will show ‘Courtesy of....builder’.
f. Plantfest expenditures – Some folks spend money out of pocket for the plantfest. We need a process in place to provide advance approval for expenditures covered by the MNA for regular events each year .
g. Broken equipment and trees at Lake Park – per Jennifer Harvey Lake Park is still under the control of Catellus so she will contact them to have the equipment fixed.
h. Plants in S.W. Greenway – An expert has said that some plants, primarily Burr Clover, in the S.W. greenway should be eradicated. Per Jennifer Harvey she let’s Valley Crest crew chief know about the issue to address.
i. Wireless in the parks – no status from Jennifer. In Catellus’ hands. Working very hard on it – have been some delays.
j. Neighborhood Mailing list – MNA does not have access to a full neighborhood list. Need to include Jennifer Harvey in any efforts to canvas or communicate with the entire neighborhood because she has the full list.
VII. Postcards – Dusty is having the postcards printed. There was no input for any design changes. Will be available for handout at the next MNA meeting.
VIII. Upcoming Meetings – next meeting will be held April 11th in Ella Wooten Park at 10am.
IX. Additional Business/Open Comments.
