• Missions
o Academic infrastructure higher quality health care
Teaching hospitals have paid residents & faculty
• Great care with or without insurance
• High-profile doctors bring attention and creates sustainability
o Economic development
o Care for the poor & vulnerable
• Goal is to create a facility as good as Dell Children’s
• Intention to partner w/ Central Health to provide an integrative delivery system to provide comprehensive care that includes assistance after patient dispatch

• Aspirations to build new Brackenridge Hospital (existing building is deteriorating)
• Suspects tax increase will be necessary
• Location
o Current location downtown is leading option
o Mueller is 2nd option ( UT already owns land here)
o Highland Mall area
o + 2-4 other sites under consideration
• No existing relationship w/ TX A&M
o A&M is focused on primary & rural care while UT SW & UTAustin has several specialties and sub-specialties, but there is room for two Medical Schools
Hancock Update
• Site will maintain a golf course
Mueller Commission Update - Ashley
• Mueller Commission advises city counsel of implementation of Mueller community plan
• Urban Rail
o Lots of support for Mueller to be a stop and maintenance city
• Green Building Update
o All commercial must be 2-star & residential must be 3-star LEED standing (Leadership Energy & Environmental Design = green building standards rating)
640/735 total homes are 3-star rated
33 homes are 4-star rated
62 homes are 5-star rated
Mosaic & Greenway Lofts are 3-star
Dell, RMHC are LEED platinum
Home Depot is 4-star
o 221 houses are going in and lot should be ready around June
o Mosaic II w/ 331
10% are affordable for 40 years
o Town Center
Austin Children’s Museum & Playhouse will be 1st establishments
• Temporary (years) circus parking will accommodate in interim while property is developed in stages
Public meeting expected at the end of the summer
o Market District meeting April 25 at 6pm at the Catholic Church on 51st St
o Currently 3300 people work at Mueller + 1400 families live here
o Goal is 14000 working & 14000 living
• There is a site reserved for a school, but there is an open forum
• AISD might have a bond election in 2013 that includes a school. This area has been defined as a high-need area for an elementary school
4020 Airport (2.7 acre-strip across from Zack Scott) – Don
• Cherrywood met to discuss upcoming potential zoning changes
o Cherrywood wants a building no greater than a 4500-sq ft footprint, max residential height 40-ft, max building height 32-ft, limited retail w/ restrictions
o Property owners want area to be zoned as General Retail, lifting all restrictions

• Literary salon series are Wednesdays 6-8pm
HEB meeting on Wed
• Meeting mainly to get input on in-store offerings
• Site orientation is likely already set
POA Landscape committee & Friends of the Prairie - Bobbie
• May 12 Butterfly Workshop – featuring trip to prairie and photos by published photographer
• June 2 – 3rd-Annual Mueller Homes Tour: residents share landscaping
