Hi Vonnie, yes, the group has been dormant for a while it seems. But, I'm assuming the interest in movies is still strong amongst the group. We'd be up for a movie or two sometime. Is there one you want to see?

I saw the movie "The Tree Of Life" with Brad Pitt & Sean Penn. It just won the Palm D'Or at Cannes. The Chronicle gave it their top pick, and the Statesman rated it an "A". Well, I didn't like it! It was filmed in Smithville, and I enjoyed the scenes at Barton Spring Pool. Thoughts?

Two Thumbs Up for the new Violet Crown movie theater on 2nd St downtown. Wonderful concept, large leather chairs with leg room, and the matinee was only $9.00. They also validate free parking for up to four hours in a nearby garage. This leaves time for dinner and a movie! I was impressed that soda & tea were only $4.00 with self serv refills. It's my new favorite movie theater. Let's Go!

Let's book a movie at the Violet crown! I'd love to see the new venue. I would vote for Circo or Everything must go. Not sure how many they run at once.
