Name: Mueller Cats Unite
Community: Mueller Community
Moderator: jill
Description: This group is for the cats to dish the dirt, or litter, and share cat tales. You might see us peeking out of windows or making a break for it if the door is left open. We may be slow to reply due to frequent naps and general apathy about other people, so just check in periodically.

I notice that this group is pretty inactive. Nevertheless, having just adopted 2 kittens from the shelter today, I love the idea of a cat-sitting group and would love to contribute my time! Our kittens are as-yet unnamed but are a Lynx point Siamese mix boy and a tortie girl.

Hi all -

Has anyone thought about starting a cat-sitting group? There is a dog-sitting group in the hood, but hey cats are important too. We are looking for some help with our cats while we are out of town. We are will probably be gone about 10 days.

We live on Pickney and have 2 geriatric cats -
Woody - 16 years old, Persian, indoor cat, likes to play hockey with little pieces of wadded-up paper.
Spooky - 17 years old, Calico, mostly outdoor, likes to eat, sleep, and sit on the arm of the couch for pets.

Thanks

I posted before, but I guess I did not introduce myself. My name is Smudge and I am very beautiful. I live with my mother (who I chase sometimes) and a person. My hobbies are grooming, napping, and meditating in my special spots. I like meeting new people. If you are nice, I will lick you. If you are not nice, I will bite you. If I can't decide, I might do both but don't be offended. I'm kind of crabby. Hello.

Hello. Smokey is a grey cranky old lady cat who resides on Camacho St. She has a very well trained owner who lets her in and out repeatly and responds to her every meow and whim. Most days she can be found napping in the sun on her patio chair.

I have one comment on the litter robot. It works really well, but I do NOT recommend getting black. The clumping litter dust sticks to it, and it looks dirty all the time. Stick with the cream color, and you will be very happy.

Just randomly chiming in to second Lorrie's recommendation of the Litter Robot. Boots and I have had one for several years and wouldn't be without it.

I am a large black and white cat who would like to reuntie with my real family. Although I have temporarily chosen to park myself on the front porch of some very nice people who gave me water and food, I really want to reunite with my real family. Please come get me so that I can lay on the couch. I am fat, black and white, and lost. Call 472-9776 if you know wehre I belong.

Feral Cats

Feral cat populations are a significant problem in Austin. There are several organizations in Austin trapping, vaccinating, neutering and returning feral cats to managed colonies:

Hello Community,

We just moved in to the Mueller Community of the 14th and our cat escaped and has been missing since the 16th. He is a whitish gray Siamese mix cat with no collar.
View Max's pictures in the photo section.

Thank you,

Julie

Just in case any of you haven't heard of the litter robot - it's awesome! http://www.litter-robot.com/
I've had one for a couple of years now and it works great. A little pricey, yes, but worth it!

My two old cats, Booker who is 17 1/2 and Stella who is 14, will be arriving early November after we move in, get settled, and Halloween passes. They are outdoor cats so I'm a bit concerned about moving them as old and settled as they are and with the recent news of packs of dogs roaming the neighborhood! So if you see two lazy old cats, Booker is all black short hair, and Stella is a little long haired tabby, lazing along Pinckney say hi!
