TxDOT public hearing on bike use of state highway system

The Austin District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT-AUS) will conduct a public meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be held at The Texas Department of Transportation Riverside Building, 200 East Riverside Austin, Texas. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information regarding transportation projects and programs that might affect bicycle use of the state system within the Austin District. The Austin District is made up of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Gillespie, Hays, Mason, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson Counties.
The meeting will consist of an open house from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Maps and other drawings showing the existing state system and upcoming projects on the state system will be displayed.
All interested citizens are invited to attend this public meeting. Verbal and written comments from the public regarding bicycle use of the state system in the Austin District are requested. Comments may be presented either at the meeting or in writing within 15 days after the public meeting (postmarked on or before Wednesday, May 11, 2011). Written comments not turned in at the meeting should be mailed to Mrs. Elizabeth Prestwood, Austin District Bicycle Coordinator, Texas Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 15426 NEAS, Austin, Texas, 78761.
Any interested citizen may request that this meeting be formalized into a public hearing by submitting a written request to Elizabeth Prestwood, at the above mentioned address, on/or before Tuesday, April 12, 2011. In the event such request is received, the public meeting to be held April 26, 2011, will be conducted as a formal public hearing.
