So roughly four years ago, I showed the opening ceremonies on the outdoor screen in GC1. I figure its a tradition now that leap year enthusiasts can love. Friday July 27th at dark, I'll show the Tivo'ed opening ceremonies. If I knew how to make fish and chips I would make some, but I'll probably just grill some hotdogs and sausages and call them bangers. If you want to show up and bring something, please do. We can even paint numbers on the kids and make them race around the GC while we gamble on them. Anyhow, I'm not gong to put too much thought into it, but we as a community should hang out and be Americans for a night.

PS. If you are not an American, you are most welcome as well. The actual games do not start this night so we all can be friendly until the lawn bowling starts. Then its going to be like the revolutionary war all over.

PPS. For our new neighbors, GC1 is the garden court between Scales and Camacho, just look for the big screen and the people milling about.

Don't forget that the ceremonies are on Friday night. Come to the GC1 and bring a chair/blanket and something to drink. If you want to pot luck a side, feel more than free. I'll have some hot dogs going and once my future olympians who double as my kids get their share, the rest will open to the public.

I'll be tivo'ing the ceremonies until dark, but show up before hand and hang. See you all there tomorrow night.

While I'm sorry to miss this year's opening ceremonies in GC1, I'd like to encourage everyone to attend.
