Noise levels in Streetman homes?
by Nicole Harbert on July 9th, 2013

Hi, my husband and I were looking at potentially buying one of the Streetman row homes. We've heard so many good things about how quiet the DW row houses are, but nothing about Streetman! Can anyone attest to quiet homes in Streetman buildings? Can you hear your neighbors?

Or any other issues they've had with this builder?

Noise levels in Streetman homes?

Hi, Nicole. We live in one of the new Streetman row homes at the end of Mattie (just moved in after Memorial Day). We have yet to hear our neighbors make any kind of noise. OK, one time we did hear some pounding when they were hanging pictures, but even that was faint. You do hear each other over the backyard fences (we have small courtyards between the homes and garages) and there is a fair amount of street noise we pick up, especially in the master bedroom, but that's about it. We moved from a single home in suburban Cedar Park, so we have been pleasantly surprised. Now if we could just get the parking garage construction crew across the street to stop pouring concrete at 4 am!

I can't say anything bad about Streetman so far - from the sales process to move-in they have been great.

That's so relieving! We currently live in West Campus, so neighborhood noise isn't anything unfamiliar to us, but after reading the horror stories with Standard Pacific, we wanted to make sure we wouldn't be jilted in Streetman. Our current apartment's walls are pretty noise proof; the only noise that filters in is through our windows. I can live with that.

I live in a Streetman home. If you're buying new construction, you're definitely going to be jilted by Streetman. If you buy an exisitng Streetman then the current homeowner has probably already worked through the issues, but I'd ask. Catellus made Streetman replace the windows and redo the flashing and stucco on the Streetman townhouses on Berkman as they weren't flashed properly. Thanks to Catellus the homes are in great shape now...but if I had a choice re: new construction, I would never buy Streetman again. Happy to talk to you more if you want.
