My name is Adelea Ibsen and my family lives at on Antone Street. Every Saturday, from 12-2, you can pick up a share of Green Gate Farms' vegetables from my home. You can also have a bouquet of flowers, free-range eggs or pastured meats added to your weekly order. No other farm offers so much so easily. Green Gate Farms, a historic, urban farm on Austin’s upper eastside, has memberships available for its weekly organic food subscription program, beginning March 23. Green Gate’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) provide members with an assortment of delicious vegetables and herbs, all grown using sustainable methods throughout the spring and summer. Flower bouquets, eggs, pastured meats, dairy and other treats can be added to each share. All local, all the time! CSA members receive discounts on farm events, including: gardening workshops, Farm Camp, cooking classes and yoga in the hayloft. See:

GREEN GATE FARMS FARM STAND OPENS THIS FRIDAY, March 26, 12-6 + SATURDAY, 10-2. Tours given on Saturdays at noon ($5). WIC Accepted. This week you'll find a wide range of winter favorites: collards, broccoli, lettuces, carrots, arugula, daikon radish, pea tendril salad, scallions, kale, green garlic, Brussel sprouts, shallot scapes and onions. There's also pork, beef, chicken and eggs (and dairy for those who preorder).
And just in time for Easter, we will have Loncito's Lamb! Yes, leg of lamb, racks, ground, stew bones -- even bones for the dog. Put your order in before this Thursday if you want a specific cut. Loncito is also offering Lamb Shares (half or whole animal), for those who'd like to stock up now.
The DOT takes Green Gate Farms' signs posted along the road so please spread the word with our flyer. We are dedicated to feeding our neighbors on the Upper Eastside! Thanks for your support.
