Hello, we just moved into a Meritage, Pena floor plan. We are in the market for a new washer and dryer, however, are having issues finding a dryer that will fit into the laundry room.
Does anyone out there have any recommendations that has this same floor plan?

I'm guessing your vent hose does not fit well and forces you to leave the dryer hanging out, well, to dry. If that's the case, it's not uncommon in multiple Meritage floor plans including mine.

A partial solution is to buy and combine low-profile venting boxes with flex hose. This got our dryer out of the middle of the room. It's not flush with the washer but it's completely acceptable and functional.

Another solution would be to get a combination washer/dryer as a single device. There might be a higher price tag but it would be energy efficient and space saving..

Thought I would bring up this post again.

We are shopping for a new washer dryer and wonder if anyone else has space issues in their Meritage (Pena) laundry room.
Has anyone used or installed a recessed dryer vent kit into the wall to free up some space? I would like to know how well that works.
