I don't mean to join the complaining boat, but my wife and I moved in maybe a month ago and since then the pool has been closed 3 times (at least) that we know of. Should HOA money be spent on providing swim diapers for parents rather than the money that is currently be spent on cleaning the pool after each accident, as I'm certain it will be cheaper in the long run and that fecal contamination is going to be a summer trend?

Is it currently mandatory that lifeguards check for swim diapers on infants and toddlers?

I was wondering the same thing so asked a neighbor with young children if they asked him if they had swim diapers. He said they did not. Shouldn't they be asking and as Sean Michelle states, they should be provide free diapers provided by HOA. Or is that too complicated??

I've never seen lifeguards check infants/toddles for swim diapers; however, even if they did so, this most recent incident came after the lifeguards' shift was over.

Majority of the incidents have come during resident only swimming times (if not all of them that I can recall). I don't believe this is a lifeguard issue.

So what policy can we do as residents to ensure that the pool is accessible for all, as the current one of trust that swim diapers are put on responsibly doesn't seem to be working? I still suggest providing swim diapers from the HOA (as it may be cheaper than dumping chemicals in the pool once a week) - but only for now, as this system may be abused in the long run. I would like to think that most parents would be responsible and buy their own swim diapers, as it is a well known fact that water often causes a release of bowls in infants, but only time will tell.

So...when are they going break down and fix the faulty pool design that connects the kid portion to the adult portion? I know, I know, most likely never due to cost.

I like this idea. Just get some bricks and seal up that splashway. It's not like there's a beautiful waterfall going on or anything. Seal it up, separate the pools. Then even if they close the smaller pool, those of us who can control our bowels can still swim laps. ha.

It's all on one filtration system so it's not that simple, unfortunately.
