Mueller Neighborhood Assn this coming Sunday!
by Karen_Zab on April 8th, 2008

Just a reminder that this coming Sunday, Apr 13th, from 3 - 5pm is the monthly Mueller Neighborhood Assn Meeting. Put it on your calendar!

All new and potential homeowners and any other interested parties are welcome. It's a place to meet new neighbors, share information, and discuss how to support our new community.

The meeting is held the 2nd Sunday of every month at Asbury United Methodist on the corner of Cherrywood and 38th St., right near Mueller.

Looking for agenda items so send them way. Current agenda items include:

POA task force update
School Bond package update?
What should the MNA evolve into from its current state?
Community building activities brainstorming

Thanks,
Karen Z

I want to encourage all Mueller residents and prospective residents to come to the neighborhood meetings, starting this Sunday. Apart from an opportunity to meet and interact, there are real, substantive issues that come our way from time to time. The school district's decisions about the Mueller Elementary School and the up-coming meeting on the Property Owners Association rules (affecting pets, kids, parking, landscaping, and so on)are just two current/recent examples. Others will certainly come along (e.g., the day labor situation when Home Depot comes to Mueller, the grocery store discussion, etc.) ... and these meetings have been a great opportunity to compare notes on many of the topics also discussed on this site (not including spiders, thus far).

If the promise of Mueller as a community is to be realized, we have to be able to speak as a community. Getting together to share information and opinions is the first step. I hope to see a crowd at Asbury Methodist on Sunday at 3:00.

Karen,

I would like to add a discussion of the current Home Modification process as was requested at the last MNA meeting. I have some information from Catellus and Alliance to share, and they are looking for feedback from us on the process. I am hopeful we can sign a group letter of feedback to reinforce a few points.

I just wanted to let everyone know, if child care is an issue, several of us have brought our kids before and they play quietly or color in the middle of the big circle of chairs while we talk. I have a 4 year old daughter so I would also be happy to take the preschooler or older kids out and watch them on the playground at the church (if they can open it , Karen?? It's usually locked). There is also a neat patio with tricycles, cars, etc. if the playground isn't open. -Melanie

Thanks for the invite to the kiddos...that's great to know! We have a 2 1/2 yr old boy and a 7 month old girl that we'll be bringing to the meeting. This is our first mtg. as we just moved onto McCloskey mid to late March. We very much want to be involved in the community.

We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
