A number of street construction projects surrounding Mueller will begin in January. Contractors are working to keep any traffic disruptions to a minimum.


Anchor Lane / Manor Road – street light replacement project along the Southwest Greenway

Crews will be working along the north side of Anchor Lane in the right-of-way between the pond and the street. They will initially be laying communication conduits. This work will take place along Anchor Lane from near the business park along I-35 to Manor Road. The project is scheduled to be complete in mid February. No lane closures are anticipated during this project. However there will be barricades on the edge of Anchor Lane on the southbound side.

Berkman / EM Franklin / Manor Road – intersection / traffic signal work

This project will begin shortly after January 1st and will take approximately 30 days to complete. There is a possibility of single lane closures periodically while crews are boring. The new traffic light will not be operational until later in the spring.

Airport Boulevard – street light improvements

Work will begin in mid January to improve the street light system along Airport Boulevard from I-35 to 38th ½ Street. Crews will replace the existing lights with silver CobraHead fixtures, similar to the new streetlights on Mueller Boulevard. The overhead electric lines will also be moved underground as part of the improvement project. Most of the work will take place in the median. Single lane closure on both the east and west lanes of Airport Boulevard will occur along different stretches periodically during business hours. This project is scheduled to be complete in mid March.
