Streetman Home Windows
by Cyndy Dwyer on October 10th, 2012

We live in a Streetman home and have noticed that several of our windows collect condensation between the panes when we see foggy conditions outside. The condensation is not seen in every window. We have marked the problem windows with sticky dots so we can monitor them.

Has anyone who lives in a Streetman home experienced a similar problem? Streetman says that the windows are working properly but we have never experienced anything like this in our previous homes. If you do have a Streetman home do you know the name of the company that manufactured the windows? We had heard the company was no longer in business but were never told the name of the company.

It is our understanding that the neighborhood experienced a severe storm in 2011 that resulted in a new roofs for many of the homes in the neighborhood including ours. Did anyone experience a problem with their windows after the storm?

Any information gained would be helpful.

We're in a 'mini-Streetman' (my term) on Mendez. We have aluminum windows from Builder's First Source. The larger Streetman yard homes have wood windows and I don't have info on them. However, when we had some leaking at the seals, Troy Elley with Streetman sent me the manufacturer info and a copy of the warranty. You may want to contact him at

Condensation is not normal, and Streetman should be willing to provide you with the name of the window manufacturer. I talked recently with a window company representative, and he mentioned in passing that they were supplying replacement windows for some of the Streetman townhomes where the windows had failed. You may have a similar problem.

Streetman told my husband that the manufacturer was a company called Best. They proceeded to say that Best went out of business 5 years ago. We took pictures of the windows when they were foggy or full of condensation. When the weather is not foggy outside the windows appear clear. Streetman is telling us that the windows contain desiccant that the desiccant is working as they clear up. We don't know what to believe at the point. Streetman does say that since the manufacturer is out of business they do not have to honor any sort of warranty.
