Would you like to see more local businesses in Mueller? If so go to the attached link to help us select our next Mass-Patronize event (like the Kerbey Lane Eat-In)!
http://tinyurl.com/MuellerLocalBiz

Details:
Our first Local Business Mass-Patronize Event - the Kerbey Lane Eat-In had 119 people participate - from Mueller and surrounding neighborhoods. Having neighbors join us from different parts of East Austin shows how important this process is, and how excited we all are to bring quality, local businesses to Mueller that everyone can enjoy. Our strength is in numbers.

Bringing Local Businesses to Mueller
Please help us figure out where our next Mass-Patronize event should be! Please go to the attached link to give us your feedback.

We also ask that you not wait for an event to reach out to your favorite local businesses. If you’re at the business ask for the manager and tell them that you would love to see them open a Mueller location, if you have a “Wish you were here” card give it to them (these are available at Mueller Central). Alternatively, email or call the top management. These local businesses need to know we are here and that we want them!

Our Mission
The Eat-In event is part of a larger strategy to get local businesses into Mueller (and if not in Mueller possibly surrounding neighborhoods). The plan is to:
1. Actively recruit businesses to come to Mueller
2. Educate consumers on shopping local
3. Work with Catellus and possibly the city to get more local businesses in Mueller

Whether you live in Mueller or not, if you would like to get more involved in accomplishing these goals you are welcome to join us! Please go to the attached link to find out how to get involved.

See you at the next Mass-Patronize event!

We have a local bar Contigo. The problem is its too busy.

Mueller café in the new HEB serves drinks now as well.

A GOOD coffee house that focuses on coffee as their primary product offering. Something top tier like Caffe Medici or Houndstooth. Austin Java is not top tier. Ruta Maya is arguably top tier but probably on the lower end of the top tier scale.

I definitely second a proper coffeehouse--more emphasis on the coffee, less on the baked goods, *lots* of tables, not so much the couches and designer furniture. Oh, yes, plenty of daylight.

Caffe Medici has IMO the best lattes in town.

I really am not an Austin Java fan, not a fan of Kerbey either. I LOVE me some breakfast and find both of them to be poor in food quality. For those of you who may agree, here are more suggestions, sometimes it isn't easy to think of things on the fly.

Upper Crust (amazing bakery and good coffee)
Quacks
24 hour diner (really good food)
Amy's (of course)
Genuine Joe's
Omelettry (good food and cheap)

I second Houndstooth. The mocha I had there the other day was the best I have had in my entire life. Pricey, but so, so good. Having visited San Francisco, we loved the Four Barrel Valencia Cafe.
They roast coffee onsite and source sustainably grown coffees themselves. I think a similar concept might work well in Austin. We also liked Peets.
Sometimes I have found myself at Epoch coffee every day.
We go across to Torchy's on Burnet at least once a week.
Magnolia Cafe
Alamo Drafthouse
Avenue B grocery and market

Can't get more local than Houndstooth. The owners practically live across the street from me.

The Corona Cafe on Corona St. off Cameron has great coffee and truly homemade sandwiches. It's local, low key and a calm place to relax. Lots of parking around the side and back.
