At the last neighborhood meeting there was discussion about opening the pool up on Monday or for the weekend (can't quite remember) and let the surrounding neighborhoods come over at no charge. Is that taking place?

I understand that the request to open the pool to our neighbors outside of Muelller free of charge was respectfully declined. Non-Mueller residents are eligibile to use the pool under the same fee arrangement used during the summer.

As I understand it, the rationale for the decision was an inability to accomodate any major surge in attendance caused by the "free" entry. Since many city pools are cosed, there is some reasonable apprehension that a Labor Day surge might occur here.

While there are many things I'd wish for having been done better this year, there has been a lot of first year, start-up learning. I'm hopeful we will see it all done better next year.
