Free Basketball Clinic with the Austin Toros (with free Dunkin' Donuts, too!)
by TexasDramaQueen
on February 25th, 2011
One of my clients (PrimeTime Sports) is hosting a community service project in Round Rock on Sunday, March 6, which rewards the participants with a free basketball clinic with the Austin Toros! It is a great opportunity for some team-building and to connect young athletes with the wider community. The service project is at the Clay Madsen Rec Center in Round Rock where the kids will be doing some light landscaping.
We'll meet at the Dunkin' Donuts for free coffee and donuts, then proceed to the Rec Center (it is one block away). After the community service project, we'll head back to Dunkin' Donuts for the clinic (held in the parking lot).
It is going to be a lot of fun - if you'd like more information, let me know!
The official press release is attached, details are below. Hope to see some fellow Muellerites!
Young Athletes Join TEAM GREEN To Benefit Area Parks
PrimeTime Sports, the Austin Toros and Dunkin' Donuts Team Up With Round Rock Community Off The Courts
January 26, 2011 - Austin, TX - PrimeTime Sports, The Best Game In Town, is excited to announce the first Team Green SLAM Dunk in Central Texas on Sunday, March 6, in Round Rock. Made possible with generous support from Dunkin' Donuts and the Austin Toros, the purpose of this event is to get pre-teens and teenagers connected with their community as a whole through a public service project - and have a little fun at the same time.
"We are proud to be working with Prime Time Sports and sponsoring an amazing program like TEAM GREEN," says Shana Young, Business Development Specialist for Dunkin' Donuts. "Prime Time Sports and Dunkin' Donuts are dedicated to supporting our local communities through these types of programs."
Participants will start the day with tasty treats at Dunkin' Donuts in Round Rock, then head over to the Clay Madsen Recreation Center to get their hands busy cleaning up and helping out as needed for the center. Attendees will participate in a scavenger hunt while working hard for their community. The winner of the scavenger hunt will be announced on-site and a prize will be awarded.
After their project, participants will be rewarded with a free basketball clinic led by members of the Austin Toros! Five professional basketball players and four Toro dancers will be leading Team Green participants through a basketball clinic. They will share their personal tips, expertise and stories with the kids. As an added bonus the Austin Toro's mascot "Toro the Bull" will attend to cheer the participants on.
PrimeTime Sports is proud to be a part of the Central Texas community and looks forward to this year's basketball, soccer, and 7 on 7 football tournaments.
"PrimeTime Sports is about developing good players," said CEO David Stephens. "More importantly, we are about encouraging young people to be great. Commitment, dedication, hard work, team before self, these are the things you learn in competitive athletics. We are excited to show our players that these qualities apply in the real world as well, and these are the qualities that distinguish you from others."
