Ahem...If I may add my 2 cents as the actual, real-live Easter Bunny (who prays to no God, BTW):

There have been many good points made here. We all agree that no one wants to exclude or offend anyone. Let's all play nice. After all, we all know where we all live.

That said, as the official, real-live Easter Bunny, I formally invite C. Frimire to be my personal guest to hunt for the eggs that I shall hide for ALL the little children of Mueller.

But only if he stops being a royal douche.

Very sorry that I hold the belief that people who get worked up about religion merit criticism.

I guess my main problem is that they're almost always hypocritical. UncleMike's last post could not have illustrated my point better if I'd written it myself.

That said, it's clear that this is spiraling out of control. Probably best to leave the last word to someone else. I guess I'll just have to swallow whatever misdirected, critical, name-calling replies may follow this post.

Who would have predicted that in the end I would be the one choosing to take the high road?

Charles

Wow. Miss much there, Sparky? That's why I said it.

Frankly, I agree with you. I just respect my neighbors more than to use an internet forum to get on a soapbox and demean them. ESPECIALLY ABOUT AN EVENT FOR KIDS. You however, have lost my respect by pointing your ire at people I genuinely like for the sake of making yourself feel like a big man.

*LESSON!*

I was trying to point out your own hypocrisy. Perhaps you missed it while you were busy looking for that high road. Or was it when you were looking around for words to apologize for being a jerk?

After your last post, I don't feel bad about stooping to name calling.

BTW, claiming to take the high road only makes you look like more of a douche.

So, I apologize to all for my hypocrisy in this. I've never claimed to take a high road.

And Charles, I still hope to see you at the Egg Hunt or Scramble or whatever we decided to call it. We can talk nicely about all things we don't believe in.

I'll be the one in the ridiculous bunny outfit trying to help kids enjoy their afternoon.

You in?

Felicia is hoping someone brings peeps. They are her favorite Easter treat. Are the yellow bunnies called peeps as well?

How about "Confection filled polystyrene models of domesticated fowl ovary discharge inquest by underdeveloped humanoids in traditional celebration of vernal equinox" Boy, that takes me back to my early development.

. . . with a special visit by the good ol' anthropomorphic lagomorphic symbol of fertility!

Great suggestion, Ice Monkey. It's really catchy, but I think we'll stick with what we've got for now. Maybe we'll reevaluate next year.

Yeah Peeps! Did you know that a peep is fat, gluten, and nut-free, and only 32 calories? It has a 2 year shelf life. Sounds like a winner to me.
