Earlier I communicated with Jennifer Harvey about the possibility of opening the community pool at Mueller for off-season swimming. Her response was negative. Her reason was mainly because of the extra cost to maintain the pool during off-season. Recently I talked to several lap swimmers at the pool. They also expressed interest in off-season swimming. Now I wonder whether there are enough residents would be interested in paying a little extra to get a special permit to do off-season swimming. I do not know the feasibilty, the cost, and other ramifications at this time. Please comment on this subject if you are interested.
Unless they cover the pool (which they don't), don't they have to maintain the pool even if no one is swimming in it?
BTW, I'm a wuss when the water gets below 70 degrees, but would be nice to be able to soak in the rays poolside and wade in the kiddy pool during the off-season. I was very disappointed when I learned the pool was closed most of the year.
Yes, great idea depending on the cost. and I agree, they have to maintain the pool anyways why would it cost much extra? We would not need lifeguards as it could be for residents only. It is so hot here 80% of the year and I think the pool season closes way too early
