We moved into our Meritage home in December '08. We bought a new refrigerator that has always worked fine. It has a filtered water/ice dispenser in it. Recently the water has started tasting funny...like there's metal in it or something.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas why the water could be fine for weeks, then taste funny?

Maybe the filter needs to be changed often. I bought a fridge without a filter and the ice tasted like mildew or something till I did buy a filter. I've noticed the same taste in my tap water if I don't let the faucet run for a few seconds before taking some. I don't remember having that problem in other neighborhoods.
