Quote: I hadn't considered the parking angle. Thanks.
And this may vary depending on where on Berkman you are. I can't remember what it looks like closer to the HEB. But my unit has the bike lane with the extra wide curb thing separating the bike lane from the street. So with that, parking and one lane of traffic each way is tighter than I'd like. My understanding is that Berkman is eventually supposed to be divided, which should give some relief.
I highly recommend that you get solar screens for your west-facing windows. I got screens installed on all my west and south windows and the difference is amazing! Before I had the screens, the rooms on the west side of my house were unbearably hot. Now they are just as comfortable as the other rooms. The screens also protect your furniture, curtains, and pictures from fading. My screens were done by Hill Country Solar Solutions. Brad Adams did the work. His number is 512 576-0947. He also filed for me to get a $1 per square foot rebate from Austin Energy. These screens will pay for themselves in a short time for sure.
If noise is a concern, you might want to check with the builder to see if you can upgrade your windows. Using thicker glass and/or tempered glass and/or laminated glass will each reduce sound transmission. Doug

This is one of the affordable units, and as far as I've been able to determine, the builder allows absolutely no upgrades. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
