Each year, the Front Porch Flyer newsletter recognizes the Mueller neighborhood block with the most holiday spirit. This is a block competition, not an individual competition, so get with your neighbors to show the rest of Mueller why your block has the most holiday cheer. The winning block will have a photo published in the Front Porch Flyer.
Last year Lawless Street won and raised the bar with its lit arches over the sidewalk. This year Lawless has decked out its street again, and Gochman Street and both Garden Courts are showing their festive holiday spirit.
Feel free to nominate/brag about your street in this thread. Front Porch Flyer editors will be deciding the winner in the week before Christmas.
I changed my three front porch Halogen lights are green, red, green, and my neighbor's go red, green, red to keep the pattern flowing. Looks really cool!
It's the final week before Christmas, and the editors of the Front Porch Flyer have picked finalists for the 2010 Mueller Holiday Spirit Block Contest. I recommend strolling down these streets while the weather is still unseasonably warm and checking out the decorations your neighbors have put up. Hopefully it will inspire even more festive decorations next year. The winning block will be posted here after Christmas, and will be featured in the next issue of the newsletter.
Congrats to the finalists, who are listed here in alphabetical order:
Garden Court 1 rocks! We should also get extra points for having a weekend day where we all worked together to get the lights up. Would not been able to do it without my awesome neighbors and their tall ladders.
I'm gonna give props for participation to Gochman North, where all seven houses are lit up, and the middle five houses are all new this year, with several of the residents only moving in in September and October!
