Does anyone know if the items placed in the various clothes and shoes donation boxes around town - ex. Cherrywood Coffee House - get used by people or turned into rags? Long ago my husband worked at a recycling center which turned bales of old clothes into rags.
I keep piles of clothes we have outgrown and I have some good ones that I think would definitely be of use to someone but I also wonder about how I can recycle the ones nobody wants such as an old sheet with a hole in it or torn pairs of jeans.
Any ideas? I hate to throw these unusable fabrics into the trash.
An another note, anyone know a high quality secondhand clothing store for kids in Austin? I used to have a good one years ago near Far West Blvd. but that was 10 years ago and now I can't remember where it is or the name. I can't find anything on the Internet.
For kid's resale, I like the Pumpkin Patch off Anderson Road. You can both sell and buy a wide variety of kid's items there. When you sell, you choose between cash or a slightly higher dollar amount of in store credit. http://www.pumpkinpatchresale.com/
I love Rockabye Baby. It's off 183 & Braker. It's always very clean and the owner is very picky about what she buys (so the selection is good - you don't have to dig and dig to find newer looking styles). I highly recommend checking it out! http://www.rbbk.com/
