Hi, I don't live here, but do work here, at SEDL, so hope it's ok to post. Came across this forum while googling reviews of Pad Thai - thanks for the inside info on the menu!
Anyway, it occurred to me that some of you may work at one of the development's health care facilities and be interested in one of SEDL's current research projects (see below for more info):
thanks!

Help Us Help Workers with Disabilities in Health Care
SEDL and the Southwest ADA Center are hoping to describe the careers of people with disabilities who work in the health care industry. This would help us in our ongoing educational efforts to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We are focusing on health care since it is a high-growth industry in Texas and want to demonstrate that people with disabilities can be productive employees in the right environment.
Are you someone or know someone who
• who works in health care;
• has a disability, or a colleague with a disability, or manages an employee who has a disability; and
• might be interested in being interviewed for this project for about half an hour?
A disability can be any health condition or impairment that currently or in the past has made it harder to work or find work. An example of a disability may be a back injury, diabetes, depression, dyslexia, past drug or alcohol abuse, or cancer.
Everyone who participates receives a gift card of $25.00 as thanks for their time.
These interviews are part of a research study SEDL is doing with Wendy Wilkinson, JD, and Mr. Vinh Nguyen, JD, MBA of the Southwest Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Center. The Southwest ADA Center is part of the hospital TIRR Memorial Hermann’s Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU) program. You can check out all their activities at
http://www.southwestada.org if you want more information about the Americans with Disabilities Act. A summary of the projects SEDL is doing with the Southwest ADA Center is at
http://www.sedl.org/DBTAC.html.
Please think about it and email
dbtac@sedl.org or call 1-800-476-6861 with any questions and we can make arrangements about where to do the and discuss how to handle child care issues if you think you might need to bring your children. We could also do the interview over the phone if you prefer.
