Wireless service?

Hi. I am moving to Mueller, so i joined this group to get to know the community. I read your post with interested as I own a personal tech business. I would recommend staying with either Verizon or AT&T. They both have the best coverage in Austin as well as the US. My suggestion, if you have trouble with signal strength inside your house, is to connect your smart phone to your home wifi. This will use your wifi for calls and such instead of your 3G or 4G. I use this solution at my current house (where I get little signal and drop calls). It's work amazingly well.

Thanks, Catherine. Unfortunately, that wifi calling option just isn't working for us for receiving calls.

I've seen a number of (old) posts in this trail from people who aren't happy with AT&T in Mueller. Not sure about Verizon, or if AT&T is still a problem.

I have Sprint, and the signal works great everywhere but the living room. My boyfriend has AT&T, and has to go outside to use his phone as he gets no reception anywhere in the house.

I have fine reception with Sprint, at home. But not in a lot of other areas in Austin. Forget 4g, total waste. But, the bundle for two plans and unlimited data is unbeatable, really. I, too, would also like to know about Verizon or T-mobile in this area as they probably are better all around town, but more expensive.

I have AT&T and have been generally pleased with the service around Austin EXCEPT inside my house. I do have a radiant barrier in my attic, but when I first moved in, I got great reception anywhere in the house. Then as more houses around me were completed, my reception got worse and worse. I'm in a smaller one story house surrounded by two story houses and I can only think that is a big part of the problem. My neighbors are great though! Maybe I could ask them to cut the tops off their houses so I can get better reception?

We ended up sticking with T-mobile--we've got a service call for someone to come out to check our circumstances and see if we can do anything to improve them.

A few things I can say about T-mobile:
1) I only have problems with coverage in Mueller, and the problems are in our house, on the street, and in the park. Anywhere else in Austin is fine.

2) My bill is significantly ($50/mo or more) less with T-mobile than with any of the other major carriers, including Credo. This may be because I've been with them 12 years.

3) T-mobile largely has great customer service.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped us make our decision. If t-mobile can't fix the problem, we'll probably eventually switch to Verizon.

We had the same issue with AT&T inside our house. I contacted AT&T and after persistence got $100 off a Microcell device which is a booster for signal in our house. It works great and we now have 5 bars of signal.
