has anyone else tried to contact Lifeguard4Hire and been successful? do you know anything about children's swim lessons?
the latest pool committee notes clearly say that Lifegure4Hire is the company who would be responsible for swim lessons, but their website does not mention lessons at Mueller and oddly, when I call the number on their website, I get a voicemail for another phone number. no one has answered yet and no one has returned my messages.
of course there are other options I can explore am, but I know they have done lessons at our local pools before and I would like to start by talking with them. just seems a little weird right now.
so if you have recommendations for other swim lesson providers, I would appreciate them. thanks! :)
We took our four-year-old granddaughter for two weeks at the beginning of last summer. Each lesson is anout 30 minutes long. There were two teachers for three children with different levels of enthusiasm. My grand daighter sat out most of the first class, but suddenly had a change of heart in the last ten minutes as she saw how much fun it was. By the end of the two weeks, she could paddle around with help. The most important lesson is not to be afraid.
We signed up for swim lessons through L4H at the Mueller pool for their late July session last Summer. The lessons were to be 45-50 minutes, and my visiting 8 year old niece was enrolled specifically for the intermediate class. We were very disappointed. There was only one instructor. The lessons were only 30 minutes, and were definitely geared for new swimmers only. There wasn't any structure or organization, as far as I could tell. I think there were a total of 4 maybe 5 students. Maybe lessons at different locations with larger groups are better put together. It may have been due to lack of enrollment that students with different skill levels were lumped together.
The location is ideal, and for a little swimmer just starting out, these lessons would be acceptable. I remember that the L4H website was not at all intuitive, and I don't see a link for registration at the Ella Wooten pool available at this time. All in all, I would not recommend L4H for swim lessons. I've had much better luck with the YMCA in other cities, but I've had no experience with The Y in Austin.
thanks for the input, y'all! from what I've seen of their lessons during previous years, when we were playing nearby, it will be okay to start off with, especially with the convenience of having them in the neighborhood pool. as the skills advance perhaps we might want something different but we'll see how it goes.
and as it happens, I just went to their website in order to look up the email address (since the phone number hasn't worked out for me...) and I saw that they do have the Mueller Ella Wooten pool registration available now. must have happened this afternoon.
We took our grand daughter to an an indoor pool the previous year. There was only one teacher for about ten toddlers. Enough chlorine to kill an elephant . . .
Swimming is considered as the best exercise and many people love to learn this. Some of the children get lessons on swimming by browse here and they get the lessons of great swimmers who are famous.
