I was thinking we could start a Vendor Recommendations Forum. A place where we could post our recommendations for everything from the best place to order Chinese take out... to the best roofer.... handymans, cleaning services, etc. Also a place to post a warning if you happen to have a bad experience with one.

Thoughts?

Vendor rankings sound like a great idea to me. We used to live in cherrywood, and they have a webpage dedicated for this: http://www.cherrywood.org/n-recfile.htm which was very beneficial!

Perhaps this would be best left for the (upcoming) wiki? This sounds like the perfect use for a wiki. Kevin, are there still plans on rolling out a wiki? Or were those plans longer-term?

If Kevin has an idea for a Mueller-oriented wiki, I'd like to speak to him. I have been espousing a wiki as a perfect story-telling tool for Mueller for a couple of months. This message board would still have its purpose for discussion, but we can begin to write Mueller's history on the wiki. Our collective work can then be organized to better familiarize people for our neighborhood.

Yes, those plans are very real (and immediate) and I am trying my best to roll out a wiki amidst my other work.

The only setback I am having is that I want it to flow seamlessly with the current forum. Moreover, where people would register to the forum (and use it to login) and would then be able to post to the Wiki. It wouldn't make sense to me to have two separate logins.

I've already got it more or less setup and am going to use the current muellercommunity.com theme on it (which is also amidst changing slightly again). Give me a bit more time with this one and it will definitely be rolled out for everyone. I think the eagerness of everyone to contribute to such a project would have a huge [positive] impact on the community and the city in general.

Given there IS some interest, I'll push it up on my priority list a bit.
