Tuesday Oct. 4th is Neighbor Night Out (NNO)!! Some other states hold events in August but here in Austin, we wait until it's cooler in October.

Please plan to attend NNO on Oct. 4th. This year is extra special for Mueller..... the Citywide Kick-Off Party will be held at the Browning Hangar and includes FOOD • GAMES • CRIME PREVENTION. This is free and open to all Austinites. As the hub for this event, I hope we'll all make the effort to attend and welcome our neighbors from the surrounding communities. Hosting the kick-off party is a great opportunity for us to show that we are a welcoming and inclusive community!

From 7 to 9 p.m., events such as cookouts, block parties and neighborhood walks will occur simultaneously throughout the City of Austin. Citizens are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, City Council Members, police officers, firefighters, EMS paramedics and Code Compliance.

National Night Out is designed to:
1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
2. Generate support and participation in crime efforts.
3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations.

Plan now to join in the fun, meet your neighbors, and improve the safety of our community!

Camacho Street will be participating in NNO from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Tom & Jan Harrigan at 4213 Camacho will sponsor this gathering for Camacho residents from Berkman to Antone! We'll set up in front of their home across from Lake Park and hope you'll stop there on your way home from the Hangar NNO event. We are asking Camacho residents to donate a dessert, snack, wine/beer or punch for children. *** We are including the new Mueller Houses on Simond in our Camacho event. ***

*** Camacho Street will hold its own NNO from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Tom & Jan Harrigan at 4213 Camacho will sponsor this gathering, by allowing us to set up in front of their home across from Lake Park. We hope that everyone will stop there on your way home from the Hangar NNO event. Frost Bank has reserved a Snow Cone truck that will stop at each street party. It will stop at the Harrigan's at 7:05PM. We are asking Camacho residents to donate a dessert, snack, wine/beer or punch for children. I have a 6 ft table that I will set up with paper goods in front of 4213. Feel free to bring a lawn chair and stay to visit! ***

The Garden Homes between Hermalinda and Threadgill will host a block party in the northern garden from 7pm to 9pm.

We'll also hopefully have our neighbors on Hermalinda. Please bring a snack/dessert (and lawn chairs, if you have them). The Frost Bank sno-cone track will arrive around 8:05pm. Hope to see you all there!
