Place to Live!!!
by recondite92 on March 1st, 2008

Looks like our house is going to sell before our David Weekley Row House is finished. The buyer wants to close March 28th. David Weekley is telling us we should be able to close sometime in late May. So, we are looking for temporary housing. We really don't want to do the Corporate Housing thing so if anyone has any leads on house sitting, short term rent let me know. A little about us: No pets, I retired Jan.10, 2008 after 31 yrs. working for the city my wife works in the association business same association for 23 years. Any suggestions ideals leads greatly appreciated.

We have the opposite problem. Due to a crappy landlord who refused to fix an electrical problem, we were forced to find a place ASAP. So we found this apt. and signed a 7 mo. lease at the beginning of Dec. Our projected move in was mid May, but we thought the extra month would be a safety net in case the rains (which never happened) pushed the date. However, it's looking like the builder may finish early; mid April. We may be stuck paying for two months of rent more than we need. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the dates will line up for you guys, John and Sandra.

We're in the same boat - let me know where you ended up at and whether you would recommend it as a short term place to live. We have 2 cats, a kiddo and need at least a 2 bed/2bath probably for 4 months. What kind of premium did you pay for the short term lease?

Thanks,
kz

Our lease is up on March 31st. Our rentor might be interested in a temporary lease. He ideally wants to sell it, but I think he wants to get to summer to do so. He asked me to post on his behalf so you can name drop. We're on Manor and Airport (well, the neighborhood behind that intersection) and are only a ten minute walk to see our Mueller house. It's a 2 bed/ 1bath 900 sq/ft house with a small storage shed.

It's now official that we got far too long a lease. Our closing date is April 15, and our lease is not up until June 30. If anyone is interested in subletting for two months (May and June), please let us know by PM. It's a 1/1 with a study (a.k.a., climate controlled storage unit for all the stuff you don't want to unpack) for $852/month, pet deposit already paid for a cat if you have one. The apartment complex is Mesa Verde http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&q=mesa+verde&near=Austin,+TX&fb=1&view=text&latlng=30409878,-97716558,9389863121653485043#.
