Hi Folks,

We signed a pre-sale contract and were looking for advice from those with experience dealing with this company.

I noticed a review on Facebook had mentioned folks ended up with a garage 2' smaller than spec which was a deal-breaker for them.

Anyone else having trouble fitting their car into the garage.. or any tips on the decor appointment would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We just moved in to our house built by Streetman, the office people are annoying and just want to move you through the process as quick as possible. The builders are great. They were helpful and listened to what we wanted.

I would say break up the design center in to two trips its very over whelming and hard to make a choice on the spot. We made several custom stuff and you have to just tell them this is what i want.

Just keep on top of them and check in on them. Matt who you will meet with is a really nice guy and he is the one that does the walk thrus and go to him with any issues.

they are not easy to work with but we are very happy with our final product

Hope this helps, any follow up questions just let me know

Fantastic!

I'm glad to hear that you had a good overall experience.

What kind of custom stuff did you go for, if I may ask?

After looking at both of their Design Center videos on Youtube, I get the impression they have a couple of fixed things they want to stick you with and don't want to move beyond those things. I'll find out once I'm there.

I don't want to have like 2 faucets to choose from, but 300 shades of brown flooring to choose from.

I was looking at an application/site houzz.com to get some ideas for cool modern things like translucent room doors, nicely finished kitchen islands... hopefully concepts like those won't be too much of a stretch.

Finally got a chance to pick out our choices from the design center!

It was pretty easy to spend about $10,000 on simple things with the bulk of the cost being wood floor and tile upgrades.

There were some interesting restrictions and surprises like no marble counters in the kitchen, no un-carpeted stairs, less than fantastic method of painting the walls and obviously a limitation on the particular choices we could select.

I saw some almost complete places with some terrible choices like weird blue back-splash in the kitchen which looked good in the context of the design center sample on the wall, but pretty cheesy in the context of a kitchen.

Overall, we tried pick out a modern/simple look and we're pretty happy with what we picked and what was available for the most part. For anyone else doing this I recommend studying photos from houzz.com and having an idea of colors/styles and so on prior to coming to the design center and use those as a template, that helped us a lot since we are not interior design professionals.
