Has anyone had a problem with ants?
Any recommendations on who to call?

We've had some ants as well on Mattie. A couple of traps from Home Depot seem to have done the trick.

In our townhome unit on Zach Scott a number of us have had ants too. We have used/tried traps inside and outside-which worked so-so, then we used the combat ant gel-that works very well, and then we used Ortho Home Max spray and sprayed inside and outside and it is the best of all - have not seen anything since my husband sprayed. So I would suggest going to Home Depot and getting Ortho Home Max and spraying, starting outside may work best! Blessings! deeann

We have lots in our kitchen on Hargis. Which traps work? Sprays scare me because we have kids and a dog.

We used the liquid Terro ant bait and it worked wonders. You just put the liquid in a plastic lid or on a piece of cardboard in their trail, the ants come running, and are gone within three days. It is pretty friendly to the environment as well because it is just borax with some sweet stuff added. And it isn't very expensive.

Don't be surprised if about two days after you put it out you end up seeing more ants, but they are actually leaving the nest to die, so you'll just be sweeping up ant carcasses for awhile. Gross, but I wanted to warn you about that.

We used it the first few days we were in the house and I haven't seen an ant since (we've been here more than a month).

Good luck.

We had fire ants in our house shortly after moving in. Aztec Organic Pest Service http://www.aztecpest.com/ tried bait inside and out, and the ants returned shortly thereafter. They came back out to spray around the perimeter of the house, and that fixed the problem. It's been over a year with no ants indoors since.

If you have an ant problem only in your kitchen cupboard/pantry, try moving those items the ants are attracted to (peanut butter, honey, etc.) into the cabinet where you store your spices. We never figured out exactly which spice or combination of spices the ants didn't like, but our kitchen-only ant problem (a previous home) went away after our cupboard reorganization.

Thanks everyone! I'll give the trap a try and maybe some Terro.
