If you think you might enjoy it, by all means get it. You will not regret it. (Unless you have soap, bubble bath, shampoo, etc. in the water while the jets are going!) I had a whirlpool tub in my old apartment, and we knew it was the one upgrade we had to have. Other than the initial cost, there are no serious drawbacks. Yes, it makes some noise, but it's not like you will be running it all the time, and when you're in it you will be so relaxed you won't care.
Just remember the tip about the soap--a lesson I learned the first time I tried the one in my old apartment. Ever see that "Brady Bunch" episode where the kids put too much detergent in the washer? (In a similar vein, it was in that same apartment that I learned why liquid hand-dishwashing soap is no substitute for dishwasher detergent. We're getting a dishwasher in the new house too; I guess I better just stay away from it.
