Capital City Ambucs is having a garage sale on Sept 12 and we need all your unwanted items.

Here is a little about our cause:
We are a 501 c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities within the Austin area. Our main focus is providing specially equipped tricycles called AmTrykes.

Imagine not being able to ride a bicycle with your brother, sister, family…friends. It makes my heart ache just thinking about it. For my son Kaeden this was just how it was. Kaeden was born with multiple health issues and today he is Five years old, does not talk or walk independently and his condition is still undiagnosed. Thanks to the MidCities and Irving chapters of Ambucs, he received his very own AmTryke in January 2008. In April 2008, we chartered a local chapter in Austin so that we could provide these AmTrykes to local children in the Austin area. These AmTrykes are provided at no cost to the families.

We are Mueller residents so message me and I can pick up or you can drop off items you would like to donate. Tax deduction receipts can be provided.

What types of items are you taking?

Hi Catherine,

We can take almost anything...things like furniture, clothes, shoes, toys, books, cd's, DVD's, working electronics(such as TV's, CD players etc), and bicycles. In the past we have received things like interior/exterior lighting, lawn mowers, armoires, dressers and tables. If you have large furniture, it may be easier if we can arrange to drop those types of things directly where we are having the sale so we don't have to move it twice.

We also have an ongoing recycling program so if you ever have old cell phones, PDAs, ink cartridges, and laptops we can take those too.

We would like to donate our couch and loveseat. How do we do that? Do you have anyone with your org who can get it? We can bring it somewhere, too. Just have to work on that some.

Yes, let me know what is the best time for you this weekend or this week and I will work with Elise (where the garage sale is to set up a time to drop it directly at her house) Do you have a truck? We have a truck so we should be able to get it there no problem. Greg is going out of town on Thursday so if we could get it there before then it would be great. Let me know what works for you. Call me at 924-7885 and we can figure something out. We are heading out for a bike ride this morning.
