What hath the Spore...Spraught?!?
by langhugh on May 22nd, 2008

The Pollen Spore has Landed at Mueller. Chris Levack, a family friend of ours, designed and fabricated Mueller's newest piece of public art, and it is brilliant. No word on whether samples of Claritin and Zyrtec will be available at the base of this 25 foot tall, 15 foot wide walk-under sculpture.

Where is it? Near the spider? We'll have to go on a walk this evening and take a look!

I posted some pics of this in my album. This thing is in the park on Tom Miller.

That is very, very cool. Can't wait to see what the rest of our public art looks like!

Just a short plug for Chris' work as he does commissioned residential pieces as well. His website displays his skilled, creative work:

This spore sculpture is much more friendly than the spider sculpture, but I've been trying to figure out why I still get one of those spine chills when I catch a glimpse of the spore. I've seen that thing somewhere before. Hmmm. Let me think back. AAHHKK! That's no spore! That's what the ball of hail looked like that came crashing through my living room window!

Never being one to exaggerate, I will always tell people that the Mueller hail in May of "Ought Eight" was about the size of that spore sculpture in the park. Now that I've again confronted another repressed memory, I'll sleep better at night.

I just noticed this for the first time today...how very cool! I love the fact that there is public art being built into our community. I'm definitely gonna check this out again tonight when walking the dog (otis!)

An original name of the association is lost for the final years due to difficulties of the participants. The name is vital and essay tigers reviews are entitled for the themes for the candidates. The association is working and fading hard for the names and titles for the show of in market and different seminars in the world.
