Pictures from the backcountry
by henningspruth on April 7th, 2008

Disclaimer: I won't be liable if you venture out into the undeveloped area and get shot for trespassing or bit by a rattlesnake.

Last Saturday, I rode my bike onto the central part of the old airport, and took a few shots from the top of a rubble pile. You have an interesting view of our neighborhood, the Old Tower, and the downtown skyline from there.

Then I made several more pictures on my way back, e.g. of the neighborhood pool and the Garden Court.

Today, I went on a walk and took some more pictures of the neighborhood pool, the spider, and some of the things going on for phase II.

Great pics henningspruth. What is that little green strip which comes out of the drainage pipe? I think it is located just beyond the park. Is that going to be a little creek or just some ugly concrete drainage ditch? Will it be buried? I didn't see it on Mueller map plans.

I really have no idea what that one is. The picture was taken beyond the park - on the overview map at http://muelleraustin.com/media/buzz/fac ... rative.pdf, I probably was standing near the future intersection of Berkman Dr and Simond Ave. Confusingly, the map doesn't show any waterways in that area, and the ditch looks a bit too elaborate to be temporary.

I took this picture 1h ago from one of the rubble piles in the backcountry.

It's not a stitched together "panoramic" shot, just a cropped wide angle picture.

Well, I think we know who to blame for all the blower noise.

You can see the other pictures I took last weekend here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/henningspruth/sets/72157629930638239/

It's an interesting contrast to the pictures from 4 years ago at the beginning of this thread ...
