Hello,

Our cat Zorro has wandered off, and was last seen Wednesday night. If you've seen a black/white, very fluffy cat, please call us. He has a black spot on this chin, a black leather collar, and a red, heart-shaped tag with his name, address, and phone number. He is very sweet and docile, and easy to approach. He does not bite, he is extremely friendly and social. If you see him, please let us know and we will pick him up immediately. We miss him very much and are very worried about him!

Thanks for keeping an eye out,

Michelle Parker
914-6575
3001-B Lovell Dr

The pre-application meeting was very helpful. Subsequent study of the new categories for land use and review of the new information about the plan amendment process has led me to decide to cancel working on the amendment application I contemplated for the Cavalier Park subarea. There are other subareas (JJ Seabrook and Pecan Springs/Springdale) that may decide to work on their own applications now.

      Hi Pat and Elizabeth,

Yes, this is something that we've intended to roll out forever and it has just been pushed further back. The implementation of email logins ONLY has now provided us with the opportunity to let people change their usernames (since they no longer affect security). Although it's still not entirely finished, this feature will be rolled out very soon.

And just a note to others, I've received a bunch of emails in the past week from people unable to login to the site. I was concerned at first, but it turns out that it's just because many people are trying to login using their old username instead of their email address.

So, if you're having trouble logging in, make sure that you use your email address only. =]

Thanks!
Kevin

Folks may be uncomfortable with their real names being attached to every post.

I would appreciate the ability for users to choose whether to remain relatively anonymous under a username or to display their real name. When we first signed up for this site, we had not decided whether to buy in Mueller and chose an absurd yet anonymous name; now that we live here and are conversing with neighbors, the site has a different role. I would be interested in displaying my real name in addition to or in lieu of my username.

At one point, the site allowed that - you could display your name under your username. While that information is still stored on my account settings, it is no longer displayed on my profile or with my posts.

This post discusses one of the agenda items: a review of the Neighborhood Plan Amendment Application for the Individual Property at the intersection of FM 969 and Ed Bluestein Blvd. After discussion by the neighborhood association, the East MLK Combined Neighborhood Contact Team will revise the application and hold a pre-application meeting with city staff. Then the contact team will again revise the application and submit it.

      Hi Everyone.

Several months ago we changed the login mechanism for citiCite and began telling people to login with your EMAIL ADDRESS instead of your USERNAME.

Although we changed the language throughout the site to reflect this change, we did not officially enforce the change. While most people took to this long ago, this is just a notification that as of today it is mandatory that you use your EMAIL ADDRESS to login.

For those of you who have no idea what this refers to, the earliest version(s) of citiCite (and the former Mueller Community forums) allowed people to login with self-defined usernames instead of email addresses. After several years of allowing both, we have finally restricted this to conform with internet standards.

As always, thanks for making citiCite what it is!

-Kevin

      Hi Kevin -

Great feature! Any way you could get the previews to appear in the RSS feed?

-steve

The following is an example of how images and a PDF will look.

The first file is a random JPG found on Google. The second file is a random PDF report found on the City's website, and the third is a random BMP file for Linux found on Google Images.

Hi Everyone.

As some of you may have noticed over the past few weeks, we have slowly been rolling out a variety of new features to citiCite. The latest of these features is our new Forum Attachment Preview system.

The short of this new feature is that citiCite will now automatically create previews of any IMAGE or PDF attachments added to forum posts. Here are some details:

Images:
citiCite will convert all standard web formats such as GIF, JPG, and PNG. It will also convert some non-web formats including BMP, ICO, PIC, PSD, and TIFF. Any converted image will be displayed in-line with the post.

PDFs:
In the case of PDFs, citiCite will automatically generate a thumbnail of every page found within the PDF. These thumbnails will be displayed in order and each page can be clicked on to bring up a larger version of the individual page. This can be particularly useful when trying to find a specific element nested within a large PDF (one that has many pages).

Given the processing power required for this new feature, your attachments will not always have previews as soon as they are attached. However, all attachments are put into a priority queue and will be handled as quickly as possible!

We will slow start integrating these attachment previews into other parts of the site in the near future.

If you notice any problems or have questions or comments, please feel free to reply to this thread.

Thanks!
Kevin

RSS Feed Modifications

      Posted on May 5th, 2010

To those of you who regularly rely upon the RSS Feed for news syndication, I wanted to let you know of some modifications that have recently been made.

First and foremost, none of the modifications made will affect anything you currently do. Everything is entirely backwards-compatible.

Many of you have noticed over the past few months that the RSS feed is being more and more cluttered with posts that don't otherwise appear in your forum view. This has been the result of other neighborhoods signing up and using citiCite, and us not really having a proper way to spread the RSS feeds around.

From now on though, those networks that already have a 'shortname' (in the case of the Mueller Community, the shortname is mueller) will be able to access the RSS feed directly for their community by using the shortname.

For example, right now the RSS feed is available at:
http://www.citicite.com/rss/rss.php

Now the MUELLER-ONLY feed is available at:
http://www.citicite.com/mueller/rss/rss.php

Similarly, our feed for OANA is available at:
http://www.citicite.com/oana/rss/rss.php

and Del Valle at:
http://www.citicite.com/dvcc/rss/rss.php

We will be working to assign ALL networks a unique shortname so that the site can continue to serve more neighborhoods in Austin.

Please let me know if you experience any problems with this, or need further explanation.

Thanks!
Kevin
